I'm looking for some free animation software that I can try out and was wondering what I should try. It can be either 2D or 3D animation programs I don't mind, if you guys could provide some links to the them that would be great.

Stykz
A free stickman animation program, while simple and doesn't offer as many options as other animation tools it's fairly easy to use and can be a good starting point. OS: Mac, Windows, Linux http://www.stykz.net/
For 3D animations:
Blender
A widely used free 3D animation program, while it does have a learning curb for new users it can produce some impressive results

Clara.io
A free 3D modeling, animation and rendering software tool that can be used entirely on the browser.
